The Redemption of Callie & Kayden Description
From the New York Times bestselling author of The Coincidence of Callie & Kayden comes an emotional new story about two troubled souls sharing one all-encompassing love . . .
THE REDEMPTION OF CALLIE & KAYDENThe dark secret Kayden has kept hidden for years is finally out. Worse, he's facing charges for battery. The only way to clear his name is for Callie to speak up-something he'll never ask her to do. Instead, he'll do whatever he must to protect her . . . even if it means letting go of the only girl he's ever loved.
Callie knows Kayden is going back to his dark place and desperately wants to save him. But that means facing her greatest fear and admitting her own painful secrets aloud. The thought of breaking her silence terrifies her-but not as much as the thought of losing Kayden forever.
Deep in her heart, Callie knows the time has come for her and Kayden to forget the pain of the past. With the help of her friends Seth and Luke she makes a plan to show Kayden the life they could have. But can she convince him they can make a fresh start together-or is she already too late?

I absolutely loved the first book and could not wait for the sequel. Although I am glad that Callie and Kayden got their "happy ending," I couldn't help but be disappointed in the ending. It was all very anticlimactic. I also felt like the book was very repetitive and lacked the spark of the first one.

This was supposed to be the conclusion of Callie and Kayden's story. However, readers are still left with unanswered questions. Maybe the author will round it out in Luke's book or a Callie/Kayden novella or something. There is no cliffhanger to speak but you are left wanting answers. Considering how powerful the first book was this one just didn't even come close emotionally. It was a good read and a must read after book one's shocking ending. I did get the feeling that maybe the author was rushed or just didn't have the same passion for the characters as she once had. There were many positives to this book. It dealt with 3 very serious emotional issues of bulimia, cutting, and rape. These touchy subjects were handled well. In addition, I fell in love with Luke and Seth. It would be nice to see a Seth book too. My biggest complaint would be the proof reading/ editing. This book had more grammatical errors of any "non-self published" book that I have ever read. At one time the main character is ever referred to by the wrong name. She is called Callie Owens by her mother. Owens is Kayden's last name and NO there is no marriage in this book. I was 20% in and wanted to search the publishing company myself to place a formal complaint. I am not sure if authors pay for editing and proof reading, but what an awful job done here. All in all, I am glad I read the book and I look forward to Luke's book.
